Diphtheria/Tetanus/Polio Vaccine

Description

Tetanus is an acute disease characterised by muscle rigidity and spasms caused by the toxin of the Clostridium tetani bacterium. Tetanus spores are universally present in soil. The disease can be contracted through burns, puncture wounds, human/animal bites,compound fractures and contaminated wounds

Diphtheria is an acute upper respiratory tract infection . It is transmitted through coughs and sneezes and in severe cases, can be fatal.

Polio is an extremely contagious disease and is particularly dangerous to children. It can cause nerve damage resulting in paralysis of limbs and respiratory muscles and can be fatal. 


1 combined vaccination covering Tetanus, Diptheria and Polio (Revaxis)

Anyone who has not completed the British vaccination schedule, or has not had a booster dose in the last 10 years, will require a booster dose of the Tetanus, Polio and Diptheria.


1 single vaccincation.

The vaccine is not suitable for infants younger than 2 months.
